Cà phê sữa đá is Vietnamese iced coffee made by dripping strong robusta through a phin filter onto a layer of sweetened condensed milk, then stirring it over ice. It is sweet, heavy, and built for hot afternoons in Saigon.

- 20 g Vietnamese ground coffee
- 1,5 tbsp condensed milk
- Hot water (about 80–100 ml, just off the boil)
- Ice cubes
- Phin filter
HOW TO MAKE IT
- 1Add condensed milk to your glass.
- 2Place the phin filter on top of the glass.
- 3Add 20 g of ground coffee to the phin and press lightly with the filter press.
- 4Pour a little hot water (about 20 ml) to bloom the coffee; wait 30 seconds.
- 5Fill the phin with hot water (about 80–100 ml) and let it drip (4–5 minutes).
- 6Remove the phin and stir well to combine with the condensed milk.
- 7Fill a separate glass with ice and pour the coffee over.
- 8Enjoy immediately!
